We have found that children and animal therapy is extremely positive when supporting those living with dementia, this is commonly known to be due to children and animals being viewed as non judgmental objects. to include this safely in our sessions we will provide therapy dolls that can be held and cuddled, we also have realistic looking pet toys that replicate breathing as they’re placed on the lap of the client. While using resources such as the therapy dolls and pets we are able to transform the room, using our projector we are able to show pictures and sounds of animals and their environments.
